SMART made an application to the Heritage Council for funding to preserve and protect the most accessible section of St. Moling’s Millrace (7th Century), located at The Glebe, St. Mullins.
Unfortunately, we were not successful this time. Only five projects could be funded and 90 applications were received from all across Ireland for this the pilot year of the Adopt a Monument Scheme.
Such was the interest and enthusiasm that the Heritage Council intends to run seminars about the Adopt a Monument Scheme later in the year and would like to invite groups and any other interested members of the community to attend.
We will keep you informed about the location and date of the seminars.
